FORWARD

This book is designed to thrill the heart of the reader with compelling evidence that God is still there. He is aware and He cares about you! Not only that, God has promised to give special care to His children. God has already made elaborate preparations for your future and He offers you His assistance and loving guidance in all that you do. YOU CAN TRUST GOD!

During the days when covered wagons were crossing the great deserts of the west, a pioneer found an Indian lying on the ground with his ear to a wagon track. The Indian said, “Two horses, a black and a gray; a Conestoga wagon; three people on the wagon seat, a fat woman, a thin man and a girl of about four.” The Indian dropped to the ground again and a few minutes later rose to one elbow and continued. “A black and white cow tied to the back of the wagon and a brown dog following behind.”

The pioneer was astonished. “Do you mean to say that you learned all that simply by listening to sounds from the ground?” he asked. The Indian replied, “No! I learned all that when the wagon ran over me!”

Although I hope you found this little story humorous, I tell this story for the purpose of illustrating that sometimes we can learn a great deal simply by observation.

This book is dedicated to the God who has left an unbroken set of intervening footprints all the way from Adam’s house to our hearts, yours and mine.

IMPORTANCE OF THIS STUDY

Most of us labor throughout our entire lives under misdirected fear.

· This fear robs us of our full potential. We would all go a lot further in life if we were not afraid of various things.

· Fear produces ulcers, shortens lives and makes us miserable to be around.

· The list of damages that misdirected fear produces is endless.

This fear robs us of the peace that passes understanding and the joy that is unspeakable and full of glory. Jesus said, “I have come that you might have an abundant life.”

THE ANSWER TO THE FEAR PROBLEM IS FAITH.

· The Bible is the faith book.

· From Genesis to maps, the purpose of every chapter is to produce faith.

A PERSONAL TESTIMONY:

Throughout most of my life I have struggled under the effects of misdirected fear.

· During my childhood I was afraid of being laughed at. I was afraid of being last. I was afraid of catastrophes that might come. For years, I scanned my surroundings each time I went outdoors at night by myself. I envisioned a Black Panther ready to jump down on me and chew me to pieces.

· The night before I got married, I panicked. I thought, “How could I ever support a wife? I’m sure I will fail her, and I will be so disappointing to her.”

· At my first church, I served with another preacher. When I learned the other fellow was going to leave and the total work was going to be placed on my shoulders, I again panicked. Rather than try, I caved in and quit.

I wonder what God could have done through me if my life had not been plagued with fear.

THE VALUE OF FAITH:

The main reason I love the subject, the evidences of God, is because it always boosts my faith. I become more relaxed, and I accomplish greater things for Him.

HOW CAN WE BUILD OUR FAITH?

Romans 10:17 “…faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”

In other words, faith is built by studying the Bible. But this is not the only way faith is built. Faith is built by observing God’s work in nature. Faith is built by observing His answers to our prayers. My faith grew when I had the privilege of personally walking in the Bible land. Faith comes by observing God’s goodness and faith comes from seeing how He has providentially intervened in people’s lives all through history. My faith grew as I gathered the material for my books, “WHAT MADE AMERICA GREAT?” and “YOU CAN KNOW THERE IS A GOD AND THE BIBLE IS HIS WORD.” I believe your faith will also grow if you read these books.

Faith comes from seeing how God has providentially intervened in people’s lives throughout history. It is for this purpose I have written this book. I pray that as you see God at work through history that your faith will also grow. I pray that as your faith grows, your life will be filled with greater peace and you will become a more productive servant of your Father.

God’s fantastic promise!

Deuteronomy 28:1-14

If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come upon you and accompany you if you obey the LORD your God:

· You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

· The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock--the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

· Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

· You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

· The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.

· The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The LORD your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.

· The LORD will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the LORD your God and walk in his ways.

· Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will fear you.

· The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity--in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground--in the land he swore to your forefathers to give you.

· The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none.

· The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.

· Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.”

As we consider the above promise, we need to ask three major questions:

· Did God keep this promise in Bible times?

· Was this promise meant for our ancestors who lived after the Bible was completed? If so, did God keep the promise to them?

· Is this promise meant for us today? If so, does He keep this promise to Christians today?

The word providence means:

Preparation for the future.

· God’s assistance with help and loving guidance.

· God’s intervention in human affairs.

The word intervention means personal involvement in human affairs.

Now we will look at the exciting stories and notice how God has intervened directly in the affairs of countless individuals, just like you and me.
