FINAL SUMMARY AND CONCLUSION

SUMMARY: The contents of this book can be divided into two parts. These parts are, the importance of our subject and the defense of our faith.

In the part that dealt with the importance of our subject, we observed that America's greatness is a direct result of the Bible's influence that disaster always comes when the wickedness of a nation reaches the saturation point, and that because of America's increasing wickedness, she is heading straight for disaster. We found that we desperately need a revival. We asked, "Where do we start?" We noted that the place to begin a revival is at the regaining of the knowledge that there is a God in heaven and that the Bible is His Word. We then concluded that our present study is of the utmost importance.

In the part of our study that dealt with the defense of our faith, we saw that the three sisters, Humanism, Atheism, and Communism, have the desire to take over our country, and that they realize that to conquer America they must first destroy our faith in God. They also understand that the obvious place to begin the destruction of our faith is at its foundation, and that this foundation is our Bible. They have rightly concluded that if they could destroy the first six chapters of our Bible, the foundation would crumble, the Bible would fall, and they could conquer America. The method of attack that these enemies have chosen is to simply convince us that the world is older than the Bible claims it to be, and instead of God creating the world and reshaping it with the flood, the world is only the result of gradual evolution.

In this portion, we also saw that the so-called "scientific dating methods" do not work; that true evidence proves the earth to be less than ten thousand years old, and that the universal flood not only proves the Bible to be accurate but also proves that God's punishments are very, very severe.

In this book we learned that an opinion means a conclusion drawn without sufficient evidence to establish it as a fact. We HAVE sufficient evidence that there is a God; therefore, it is not simply our opinion that there is a God, WE KNOW IT!

We also saw that "knowledge" means a firm mental grasp of truth, and that knowledge comes by gathering and weighing evidence. When we gathered the pieces of the evidence, we found them to be overwhelming. We have once and for all answered the question, "Can we KNOW that there is a God in heaven and that the Bible is His word?" But two other questions still need to be considered. These questions are: Can we KNOW that our interpretation of the Bible is correct? And, can we KNOW that we are going to heaven? These questions will be carefully analyzed in the sequel to our present volume. Be sure to purchase the book, "WE CAN KNOW THAT OUR INTERPRETATION OF THE BIBLE IS CORRECT."

CONCLUSION. Based on our present study, it is evident that there are now three courses of action that each of us need to take. We need to read, believe and obey.

WE NEED TO READ. In order to build our faith in God, it is important that we read His wonderful book. The Bible says, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." Romans 10:17 KJV An excellent place to begin our Bible reading is with the gospel of John. The very purpose that this book was written is given in the apostle's own words when he said, "Truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:30, 31 As we read this gospel, we see that Jesus presented himself to the people for their individual evaluation. To some, Jesus was a fake; to others He was just a good man. But many of those who examined the evidence were convinced that He was, indeed, the Son of God. If we carefully read these reports and honestly weigh the evidence, we will also be convinced that Jesus is God's son.

WE NEED TO BELIEVE. We should be reminded that we do not need to park our brain to become a Christian. Christianity has a solid rock foundation which is completely Biblical, logical, and scientific. It is true that there are many things in the scriptures that we cannot prove by putting them to a test, but there are virtually thousands of things in the scriptures that can be tested. Every statement that can be tested has been proven to be minutely accurate. With all this evidence that God's word is truthful, how could we possibly doubt the few Biblical claims that we have not yet been able to test? TO ILLUSTRATE: When we follow a road map, we prove by visiting city after city, that a portion of the map is correct. We then can have complete confidence that the other cities that the map shows are real. We can believe in the reality of heaven with more confidence then we can place in a road map. We trust the map and commit our lives to it. We drive down the road at high rates of speed with full confidence that the road will continue just as it is shown on the map. Let us now place this same type of trust in God, and let us commit ourselves to Him with this same type of commitment.

WE NEED TO OBEY. Before Jesus ascended into heaven He said, "ALL AUTHORITY in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:18,19 The word "authority" means the power or right to make decisions, to give commands, and to force obedience. Jesus had all authority, but then He placed that authority in the Bible (John 12:48; II Timothy 3:16, 17; Revelation 20:12-15; I Peter 4:11). The Bible now has the right to make our decisions and to give us our commands. If we desire to please Jesus, we must obey His Bible.

Dear friends, I now write to you... to stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance...first I want to remind you that... scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Why, as far back as anyone can remember everything has remained exactly as it was since the beginning." For this they willingly forget, that long after He made the heavens by the word of his command, and used the water to form the earth, and to surround it, that he also destroyed the world with a mighty flood. But the heavens and the earth that now exist are being preserved by God's command for the fire of the Day of Judgment, and the destruction of wicked men.

But you should never lose sight of this fact, dear friend, that with the Lord each day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as one day. The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised as some think. Instead, He is patient with you, because He does not want you to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Since all these things will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people should we be? Your lives should be holy and dedicated to God as you look forward to the day of God... that day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of the righteous.

Dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, and for Him to come, try hard to live without sinning; and be at peace with everyone so that He will be pleased with you when He returns. [Also remember He is waiting to give us time to get His message of salvation out to others...]

Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the mistakes of wicked men lest you fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and for ever. Amen. (An interpretive paraphrase of II Peter 3).
